"We'd been best friends for five years and a lot of people told us not to go into business together," says Emily. "It's so important to have a really trusting relationship with your business partner because it puts stress on the friendship and on the business relationship. You have to be really open with each other and discuss what's what."
Emily, who has a marketing and finance background, says they both know the other's strengths and work is generally divvied up accordingly. Brendan, who comes from advertising sales in the publishing industry, understands the demands of clients and has utilised his network of contacts to forge relationships with two of Australia's biggest publishers, ACP and Emap.
